Africa EOR Services
Managed multi-country payroll · in-country specialists · consolidated reportingOur own service, disclosed as such. Payroll runs every month for every client, and it is built around one idea: a payroll manager who knows your entities, in-country specialists who file with each authority on its own calendar, one cut-off and one consolidated report to finance. Where the field beats us is software and scale: Papaya and Deel have better dashboards, and RemotePeople covers more of the world.
Strengths
- In-country payroll specialists across the continent
- One cut-off, one register per country, one consolidated report
- Employer returns and employee certificates handled in every jurisdiction
- EOR and PEO from the same team
Watch for
- Africa only
- Dashboards are functional rather than beautiful
- Not built for headcounts in the thousands

How we score
Each provider is scored out of ten on five criteria, weighted equally. Scores are our assessment of publicly available information and, where we have it, direct experience; they are opinions, not measurements.
Statutory accuracy
Contributions at current rates, caps and thresholds; remittances on each country’s deadline; annual returns and certificates complete.
Multi-country coverage
How many African countries are processed with real in-country expertise rather than a partner and a spreadsheet.
Software
Does finance get a consolidated view and ledger export, and do employees get a portal?
Transparency
Is scope, cut-off and the approval process explained plainly before you start?
People
Is there a payroll manager who knows your entities, and specialists in each country?
Africa payroll questions?
How different is payroll between African countries?
Very. Employer contributions range from a few per cent of salary to over twenty; some countries tax nationally, others (Nigeria) by state; deadlines, portals and annual returns are all different. A single provider with in-country specialists exists to absorb that.
Software or managed service?
Software works when someone in your company understands each country’s payroll and has time to run it monthly. A managed service is for when nobody does, or when the cost of a missed remittance exceeds the fee.
Can we pay from one bank account?
Rarely. Most African jurisdictions require local-currency payment from a local account for tax and exchange-control reasons. Some providers can disburse from a client account as an interim measure.
Can a payroll provider also employ our staff?
Only if it offers Employer of Record. Several providers here do; see the Africa EOR ranking.
